Whoo! Happy St. Patty's day! I rarely go out and drink, but I thought that I really didn't have an excuse not to go out and do a little drinking tonight. So I did. I was hoping people would celebrate a little bit more, but it is Taiwan... not really the place you'd find a bunch of drunken
Irish rovers..hehe. The only people wearing green besides myself were those who happened on wearing green. That was really about it. But that didn't deter me from getting my St. Patty's day on! I had some beer... and it was quite refreshing. I was bummed that most of my classmates didn't want to join me tonight. So what if we have a test tomorrow! You can study tomorrow! There's always time for some pi-jiu!

But like I said nothing new so far. This week will mark my 4 months of being here in Taiwan. I can finally apply for residency and insurance. At least that'll give me some stuff to do...whooo! Except that I do plan on going out and getting a beer tomorrow. Can't miss out on St. Patty's day! So I hope you all have a good St. Patty's day! And I'll let you know how mine went!

Lantern Festival!
So yesterday was the big day for the Lantern festival. I went to Sun Yat-Sen Memorial Hall
to see a huge display of the lanterns. I thought it was pretty cool. There were many levels of lanterns. Some were made by random organizations, high school students and even middle school students. Overall, I thought they all looked pretty good. The theme this year was the ox because it's the year of the ox. But not to worry... there were a few random non-ox ones as well. I have to say though, this picture with the rhino in it was probably my favorite one. All the animals looked like they were having so much fun! Hehe.
Yesterday was the official last day of the Chinese New Year celebration. In the good 'ole days, (wayyyyy back) Chinese New Year was celebrated for about a lunar month. The last day was signified by a full moon.
On that last day, the Lantern festival was held. And then on that day, you have to eat tang yuan...a glutinous rice ball thing with stuff in the middle...in a soup. I know it's kinda funny looking..but it's tradition...and it's quite a yummy one too! Anyways...back to the Lantern festival. I went there with my cousins and took a bunch of pictures for you to see. So check out the new album titled lantern festival! (Give me at least a day after this post to get them all uploaded...my internet is still extremely slow!)

So the last week and half were really not that fun. I got sick again. I sounded
like a man! But despite me being sick and all...I did do a few things. Yesterday was the first day I felt really good. I wasn't constantly blowing my nose and coughing...so I decided to go out and have some fun. I went to an international book fair! Hahaha! I went to see if they had anything from the US. When I got there, I found out there was a whole section for anime...whoo! I went to check out the "American" section. It was kinda lame. All they had were books that were made
into movies. And they were the recent movies too, like Sex and the City, Devil Wears Prada, Lord of the Rings and the Harry Potter books. I was kinda disappointed. I was hoping for a huge selection. Oh well. But then I got to go to the Anime Hall. Hahahaha! It was crazy in there. It was like a Taiwan Comic-con. There were people dressed up and huge booths with lines for just getting in the area to loo
k at the merchandise. I of course stood in one of the lines just so I could check it out. And I couldn't resist getting a little something from one of my favorite animes! I looked around to see what else they had in the Hall, but there were just too many people and too many things that I didn't know. So I decided to leave.
Since I had been out all day, I decided to go out to Friday's. I had to get a good ole cheeseburger! It was excellent! Yum American goodness. It was a pretty long day, so after dinner I headed home. Instead of going to bed or anything like that, I watched one of my new favorite shows, Reaper! If you guys haven't seen it, check it out. You might like it. It's a comedy about the devil. After that, I did have to call it a day. Tomorrow I'm going to the Taipei Lantern Festival. I hope to get plenty of pictures of that for y'all to see!
